Abstract

The manuscript summarizes the most outstanding events that took place throughout the 20th century fueled by a group of British researchers, whose developments and contributions provided a great boost to epidemiology that, from an originally descriptive perspective, went on to reach a noteworthy analytical component. Such achievements, in turn, resulted in a favorable impact on related fields, promoting the performance of many clinical research projects highly relevant to human health.
